About the Tony & Jean DiFebbo Trust
The DiFebbo Trust scholarship foundation was established in honor of Tony and Jean DiFebbo.
Tony DiFebbo was born in Ticonderoga on March 8, 1926 and died on January 22, 2018 at the age of 91. He lived his entire life in Ticonderoga. After graduating from Ticonderoga High School in 1943 he joined the army, serving with the 99th infantry Division in WWII. He achieved the rank of sergeant and fought in the Battle of the Bulge, the largest and bloodiest battle for American forces in the war. Tony worked for Niagara Mohawk Electric Company. Among his many hobbies, he loved gardening and giving his produce to neighbors. In 1948 he married Jean White of Westport. NY.
Jean was born in NYC in 1926 and died in Ticonderoga in 2008. Jean was raised by her grandparents, Charles and Alice White, in Westport NY. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Ticonderoga and was employed by New York Telephone Company. She loved watching and participating in many sports, especially skiing, and gave away many handmade blankets.
Tony and Jean did not have children so they wanted to donate their savings to advance education for students living in Ticonderoga. Funds for the Ticonderoga Education Fund are provided through the T &J DiFebbo Education Trust.
